The High Atlas Mountains near Marrakech offer some of the finest trekking in the world. This a stunning four day trek in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. We trek through a variety of landscapes from lush valleys to barren rock. The route takes us through colourful Berber villages, over nice mountain passes slowly ascending to our highest point at 4,167m at the top of Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest mountain.
The trek will be supported by a berber team ; Mountain guide, cook and muleteers& mules for luggages.
Day 1: Marrakech– Imlil
A short transfer of two hours on a private vehicle, you reach Imlil, mountain village and real gateway to the Toubkal massif. This is where you’ll meet the muleteer who will bring your luggage to the lodge. After a traditional lunch, begin the trek by discovering the ingenuity of the Berber mountaineers: irrigation canals, terraced farming ,mills … and villages sitting on the slopes of the valley up to the tizi n’Tamatert (2272 m); everything here is designed to not waste a single acre of fertile land.
Night in Imlil.

Day 2 : Imlil –Toubkal refuge
The climb towards the shelter begins following the channels that irrigate the terraced crops. After the lunch break at Sidi Chamarouch’s small village (and marabout), the mountain becomes more arid and only a few bleatings of goats and sheep guarded by young shepherds accompany your walk. Night at the Toubkal refuge (Neltner refuge, 3210 m).

Day 3 : Toubkal refuge- Toubkal summit (4167m)
The ascent towards the summit is without major difficulty. The path goes up a valley enclosed that leads to a pass. A large ridge then leads to the summit. Here, the view isstriking, dominating a large part of the Atlas and the plains of Haouz, to the north, and Ouarzazate, to the south. The descent is by the same way and, from the refuge. Night at Toubkal refuge (neltner refuge 3210)

. A: 1050 m – D: 1070 m.
Day 4: Toubkal refuge – Marrakech
descent to Imlil by the same way (2nd day). The driver is waiting in the village to take you back to Marrakech.

Recommended Saison: from April to October are the suitable months of the year to do this trek, the days are usually sunny. May through late September is the ideal season, the temperatures are pleasants and the views are excellent.
Trip grading: the ascent of Toubkal summit requires you to have a previous experience and to be in excellent health and top physical condition. The daily climb is from 500 to 1100 meters. The trail to Toubkal has no particular danger, only some small tricky passages during the climbing day.
City Accommodation: during your stay in cities, we offer a good choice of carefully selected accommodations. You will stay in comfortable hotels or riads of good category 3 or 4 stars which we have chosen for their comfort and cleanliness as well as for their charm, welcoming quality, tranquility and security of the place.
Outdoor Accommodation: during the trek, the overnight stay will be in bivouac. Camping is the most practical option to discover some of the Morocco’s authentic areas. With us you will camp in comfort, spacious igloo tents with foam mattress provided all crockery and cutlery.
Staying in camping, under tent allows you to enjoy nights out in the open air with moments of real pleasure to discover the stars.

Necessary Logistic: when we go hiking in high Atlas Mountains, we usually hire mules to carry your luggages, food supplies and necessary logistic to install the camp. Your bags are transported by the mules. Therefore, all you need to take with you are the essential items for the walking day: water bottle, sun cream, camera and a warm fleece…
Itinerary and Breaks: the stages of this trek are well calculated in order to permit you taking pauses and picture breaks. You will have enough time to discover beautiful sites, meet the locals, taking the pictures and admiring the landscapes.
