This Journey with terraced fields, stone villages and traditional way of life. For this trip in the Toubkal, a good physical condition is required as we cross several passes of over 3,000 meters of elevation and there are considerable differences in altitude throughout the walks.
Day 01- Marrakech - Oukaimden - Ouanskera.
Early in the morning departure from Marrakech to Oukaimden (the highest ski station of Africa), where we meet our team of mule drivers. After loading the animals, we start our hike to the valley of Imnane. We cross the pass Tizi n’Eddi (2900m) and reach our camp near Ouanskera after a long descent. About 4 hours of walk.
Day 02- Ouanskera - Tizi n'Likemt - Azib Likemt.
After a long and athletic climb, we can enjoy the far extending view on Massif Toubkal from the Tizi n'Likemt-pass (3600m) we continue with a long descent to our camp at Azib Likemt, Azib means a sheepfold. About 4 hours walk.
Day 03- Azib Likemt - Tizi n'Ourai - Amsouzarte.
We leave the sheepfold of Likemt. On the way to a beautiful village, we climb a small hill to reach a small river. The river leads us to the foot of Tizi ‘n Ourai 2900m, the pass from which we can see the summit of Mount Toubkal. After a long descent we join our mule driver team in Amsouzarte 1740m. We stay the night in a cottage of a local family. About 4h30 walk.
Day 04- Amsouzarte - Lake Ifni.
We leave the beautiful village of Amsouzarte behind us and hike to Lake Ifni 2295m. This is the only lake in the Toubkal and the deepest of the Atlas. We spend most of the afternoon there to allow the bravest to swim or if you brought your fishing rod you can even catch a fish. Camp site near the lake. About 4 hours walk.
Day 05- Lake Ifni - Tizi n'Ouannoums - Neltner
With today's hike, the most athletic part of our journey begins. We leave early in the morning to Tizi n'Ouannoums 3664m. We climb to the pass on a trail that crosses a ravine. Afterwards a long and easy descent brings us to our camp near the mountain refuge Neltner (3200m).About 5 hours walk.
Day 06- Neltner - Optional ascent of the Toubkal (4167m) - Imlil - Marrakech
We leave our campsite as early as possible to enjoy dawn. Climbing the summit of Mount Toubkal has no technical difficulty. Early in the season there may be some snowfields to cross. From the summit the view stretches far. You can among other things see the top of Mount Sirwa, the plain of Marrakech and Lake Takerkouste. We descent via Sidi Chamharouch and Armed to get to the village of Imlil 1740m. We leave our mule driver team and head back to Marrakech. About 7 hours walk.
Recommended Saison: from April to October are the suitable months of the year to do this trek, the days are usually sunny. May through late September is the ideal season, the temperatures are pleasants and the views are excellent.
Trip grading: the ascent of Toubkal summit requires you to have a previous experience and to be in excellent health and top physical condition. The daily climb is from 500 to 1100 meters. The trail to Toubkal has no particular danger, only some small tricky passages during the climbing day.
City Accommodation: during your stay in cities, we offer a good choice of carefully selected accommodations. You will stay in comfortable hotels or riads of good category 3 or 4 stars which we have chosen for their comfort and cleanliness as well as for their charm, welcoming quality, tranquility and security of the place.
Outdoor Accommodation: during the trek, the overnight stay will be in bivouac. Camping is the most practical option to discover some of the Morocco’s authentic areas. With us you will camp in comfort, spacious igloo tents with foam mattress provided all crockery and cutlery.
Staying in camping, under tent allows you to enjoy nights out in the open air with moments of real pleasure to discover the stars.

Your bags are transported by the mules. Therefore, all you need to take with you are the essential items for the walking day: water bottle, sun cream, camera and a warm fleece…
Itinerary and Breaks: the stages of this trek are well calculated in order to permit you taking pauses and picture breaks. You will have enough time to discover beautiful sites, meet the locals, taking the pictures and admiring the landscapes.
